A 54-year-old man accused of child pornography offenses in Bernalillo County has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty under a plea agreement with the U.S. Attorney’s Office to one count of a six-count indictment.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a news release that William Clyde Pumphrey was sentenced Jan. 20 when he appeared in federal court in Albuquerque before U.S. District Judge Judith C. Herrera, who also sentenced him to a 10-year term of supervised release after he completes his prison sentence.

Pumphrey was indicted on June 25, 2009, by a federal grand jury in Albuquerque on three counts of receipt of visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and three counts of possession of matter containing visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, according to the news release. The alleged offenses occurred in March 2007 in Bernalillo County.

Under a plea agreement, Pumphrey entered a guilty plea on May 5, 2010, to one of the counts charging him with receipt of child pornography and agreed to a 10-year prison term while the U.S. Attorney’s Office agreed to dismiss the other five counts at sentencing, the news release said.
