Hiker reported missing from trek through Chama, police say

SANTA FE, N.M. — A hiker on a multi-day trek near Chama last month has been reported missing after he never returned, according to New Mexico State Police.

He was last seen on Nov. 14, said Sgt. Elizabeth Armijo, a NMSP spokeswoman.

“Stephen Olshansky was last seen wearing beige pants, a green baseball cap, and may be wearing a blue jacket,” Armijo said.

Olshansky, 59, is 6 feet tall, weighs 175 pounds and has gray hair and beard.

He uses a red and gray tepee-style tent, she said.

Anyone with information about Olshansky’s whereabouts should call the State Police office in EspaƱola at (505) 753-2277.
