ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque police are working to find a suspect and a motive in an early Tuesday morning shooting near Gibson and San Mateo that left a woman injured, according to a police spokesman.
Officer Tanner Tixier said officers were sent to the 4600 block of Gibson SE around 4:10 a.m. after callers reported a woman had been shot.
When they arrived, they found a woman who had been shot once in the leg. She was transported to the University of New Mexico Hospital and was in stable condition Tuesday afternoon.
Tixier said the woman isn’t being identified for her safety and detectives are working to find out what happened.
“At this time there is no suspect information and Southeast Impact detectives are working the case in an attempt to identify both an offender and a motive,” he said.
