Architects name 2015 award winners

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Albuquerque Chapter of the American Institute of Architects called out 11 projects in its 2015 Architecture Design Awards last month.

The projects were selected for quality design, innovative approaches and sustainability, according to the organization.

Honor Awards went to Baker Architecture + Design on the renovation of the KANW Radio Station, for General Design & Remodel/Adaptive Reuse, and RMKM Architecture P.C., for General Design for the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Library at Central and Unser.

— Boys & Girls Club of Hobbs, Citation Award for General Design, RMKM Architecture P.C. J.F. Maddox Foundation, owner; H.B. Construction, contractor.

— CNM STEMulus Center, Citation Award for Remodel & Adaptive Reuse, Baker Architecture + Design. Central New Mexico Community College, owner; Jaynes Corp., contractor.

— UNM FabLab Metal Shop, Citation Award for Small Architectural Project, Jon Anderson Architecture. UNM School of Architecture + Planning, owner; Klinger Constructors LLC, contractor.
