Ryland Lynch is making is own mark in music

Ryland Lynch has been having the time of his life.

And he should be.

Lynch has been opening with a DJ set before pop rock outfit R5’s current tour.

“It’s been really amazing,” he says during a recent interview from California. “It’s everything that I’ve ever wanted to do.”

On tour, Lynch is in good company as four of the members of R5 are his siblings.

For the tour, he’s in charge of getting the crowd hyped up for the main event.

“A lot of people don’t know this, but when my brothers and sister are on stage, I’m working the lights,” he says. “I helped develop the entire light show for this tour.”

Lynch just began his career as a producer about a year ago. In that time, he’s been learning the ropes in production and getting better with each show.

“Being on stage is something I really enjoy,” he says. “There’s a great energy that is shared between me and the crowd.”

Lynch’s career in music started more than a decade ago when his family was living in Littleton, Colo.

His eldest brother, Riker, showed interest in singing and performing and the rest of the siblings followed suit.

After moving to Los Angeles in 2007, R5 was formed and Lynch became part of the band as the drummer.

“I was really young and I think about 10 years old,” he says. “Then they got a drummer and I became band manager, without realizing they already had a manager. It was great that they wanted me to be a part of it.”

As Lynch grows with each show, so does his confidence.

He’s gearing up to release a new single soon and hopefully an album to follow.

“The great thing about this is that I’m getting to make my own mark with my music,” he says. “It’s been fun getting out and seeing the world and bringing people together with music.”
