ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Brad Colerick has built a good network of musicians along his way as a musician in California.
And from time to time, he gets to repay a favor.
The singer-songwriter is bringing along Denver-based duo Bettman & Halpin for his show in Albuquerque.
“I met Luke (Halpin) and Stephanie (Bettman) out in California,” he says. “They are an incredible duo, and during my set, I’ll have them join me on a few songs. It’s going to be a magical night.”
Colerick is touring in support of his latest album, “Tucson.” It marks the fourth solo album of his career.
“I had to dive in deeper into my songwriting on this one,” he says. “It’s important for me to keep telling stories. I think these stories will resonate with a lot of people.”
Colerick will perform at the Outpost Performance Space on Saturday, Feb. 6.
Albuquerque seems to be a big hip-hop city, and it’s in for a treat when Naughty By Nature performs at Sister on Tuesday, Feb. 9. The trio is celebrating its 25th year in the business.
Speaking of legendary, heavy-metal icons Anthrax will make a stop at Sunshine Theater on Wednesday, Feb. 10. Staff writer Rozanna M. Martinez caught up with Scott Ian to talk about the new album.
And Assistant Arts Editor Kathaleen Roberts caught up with funny girl Liz Reuss, who is part of Second City. The comedy troupe will make a stop at the Lensic Performing Arts Center in Santa Fe on Feb. 12.
