While employment rates are slowly starting to creep closer to pre-recession levels, New Mexico has made the worst recovery progress in the nation, according to Pew Charitable Trusts. For every 100 prime-working-age New Mexicans, 7.2 fewer were employed in 2015 compared to before the onset of the recession.
