ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Twenty-nine Albuquerque Public High School students make up the 2016 class of Selfless Seniors, celebrating everyday APS students who’ve given of themselves at home, in their schools or in the community at large.
“The kids who have been named Selfless Seniors really epitomize the heart and soul of our schools,” APS Education Foundation executive director Phill Casaus said in a statement. “People talk about the World War II generation as ‘The Greatest Generation.’ I think the kids of this era are our next Greatest Generation, and when you see what they do for others, you can see why.”
The students were publicly recognized last week during what organizers called the best kind of graduation/honors ceremony – everyone there was a success.
The APS Education Foundation’s Selfless Seniors event, now in its ninth year, took place at the The Event Center at Sandia Golf Club.
