ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — An Albuquerque man has pleaded guilty in federal court to a theft of mail charge and is facing up to five years in prison.
Prosecutors say 29-year-old David G. Martin entered his plea Friday.
Martin was arrested on Jan. 20 on a criminal complaint.
Prosecutors say Martin unlawfully possessed a large quantity of mail that didn’t belong to him and a U.S. Posta, Service’s neighborhood delivery collection box unit.
When found in possession of the items last Dec. 30, prosecutors say Martin was in a truck that had been reported stolen.
A search of the truck revealed hundreds of pieces of mail and their contents, which were credit cards and ID cards.
His sentencing hearing has yet to be scheduled.
