Woman indicted in San Angelo police officer’s death

SAN ANGELO, Texas — A woman has been indicted in connection to a crash that killed a West Texas police sergeant last summer.

The San Angelo Standard-Times ( ) reported Monday that 46-year-old Cynthia Quigley was indicted March 15 on a charge of criminally negligent homicide. She was arrested March 24. Online court records do not list an attorney who could speak on her behalf.

Authorities say 44-year-old San Angelo Sgt. Korby Kennedy was riding his motorcycle as part of an escort from Lake Nasworthy to a restaurant for boats participating in the Showdown in San Angelo Drag Boat Races on June 25, when an SUV pulled out of a parking lot and struck Kennedy. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

He was a San Angelo police officer for nearly 20 years.
