Skateboarder heads to hospital after crashing into city bus

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A skateboarder collided with city bus near the University of New Mexico this evening, sending him to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to the Albuquerque Police Department.

Officers are still investigating at the scene of the crash on Central at Cornell.

Based on preliminary information, the skateboarder was in the street — in a non-designated area — when he collided with the bus, putting him on the ground, APD spokesman Daren DeAguero reported around 8:30 p.m.

The bus immediately stopped, and the skateboarder was taken to a local hospital, DeAguero said.
