Robber Hits Bank in Northeast ABQ

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Bank of Albuquerque at 4201 Wyoming Blvd. NE was robbed Friday by a man who told a teller he was armed and demanded cash, the FBI says.

FBI spokesman Frank Fisher said in a news release that the robbery occurred shortly after noon. The robber, who made off with an undisclosed amount of money that he put in a cheetah-colored bag, was last seen on foot heading west on La Mirada Place NE.

The man was described as Hispanic, in his middle to late 30s, about 5-foot-7 and weighing approximately 160 pounds, according to the news release. He had dark brown eyes, a tattoo on his left hand and a small bump on his nose.

The news release said the robber was wearing blue jeans, dark shoes and a gray and black beanie with a design on it.

The FBI may pay a reward of $1,000 for information leading to the robber’s arrest and conviction, the news release said. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Albuquerque FBI office at 505-889-1300 or Albuquerque Metro Crime Stoppers at 843-STOP.
