ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Entry deadline is April 15, event scheduled for May 19 to 22 in ABQ
The New Mexico Film Office is calling for entries for the 2011 NM Filmmakers Showcase. Last year nearly 100 filmmakers had their work screened. The showcase is open and free to the public, with no cost to enter a film or attend the screenings.
“The New Mexico Filmmakers Showcase is a great opportunity for New Mexican writers and directors to have their short or feature length films screened for the public,” said Jennifer Schwalenberg, deputy director of the New Mexico Film Office.
A panel of local film professionals will critique the films in various categories, and winning films will travel around the state courtesy of the New Mexico Film Office in collaboration with local theatres and public access channels. Narrative, documentary, animation and experimental films all qualify for entry — there is no minimum run time but the maximum run time is two hours.
Deadline for entries is April 15. This year’s showcase is scheduled May 19 to 22 in Albuquerque. For further information, contact the NM Filmmakers Program Director Trish Lopez at the New Mexico Film Office, 505-476-5611.
