CNM looking for employers, apprentices

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Central New Mexico Community College is looking for employers to participate in the new New Mexico Information Technology Apprenticeship Program, which aims to help develop a well-trained information technology workforce for their companies.

The employers will hire apprentices and help them develop the skills needed to be productive so they can become “work-ready employees,” a CNM news release said.

Apprentices can be first-time college students, current students or unemployed workers seeking skills and development. They will have a choice among a variety of IT fields. The program is funded by a $3 million federal grant.

More information is available here. For more information on becoming a participating employer, send an email to or call 505-224-5227.
