UNM hires food company for stadium sales

Levy Restaurants Co. of Chicago has landed a contract to handle dining, concessions and catering operations for the University of New Mexico’s athletic venues, including University Stadium and WisePies Arena.

The Chicago-based company, under a multi-year “athletics hospitality partnership,” will sell beer at University Stadium during football games for the first time, according to a news release issued Thursday.

“When you come to a Lobo game, we want to deliver the whole package, and we know we can do that with Levy’s partnership, given their impressive collegiate portfolio,” said Brad Hutchins, a UNM deputy athletic director. “Levy Restaurants will be the key in enhancing the typical sporting experience and showing our fans what elevated game-day dining is like.”

The company will sell food with “locally inspired flavors, infusing New Mexico green chiles across menus in dishes such as green chile stew, nachos and house-smoked BBQ,” the release said.

“Premium seating areas will feature rotating chef tables with local meats and produce, served at personalized carving stations.”
