ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — I-25 southbound was shut down at Jefferson during rush hour Friday after a car caught on fire, according to Albuquerque police.

Spokeswoman Tasia Sullivan said there was a crash and one of the vehicles involved caught fire. Crews were working to clean it up late Friday afternoon, she said.

She said she didn’t know of any serious injuries due to the crash, and didn’t release any other information, including what caused the crash.

“Seek alternate route and expect heavy delays,” read a notice from the state’s Department of Transportation.
