Work crews were busy in Downtown Albuquerque on Tuesday, with demolition at Central and Broadway for Innovate ABQ and road work nearby at Central and First for a $40 million development project. Shown in the photo is the intersection of First Street at Central and First Street at Copper. Realignment of the roads will make room for the project, which is to include commercial space, an entertainment tenant that is so far described as a bowling alley, at least two other retail or restaurant tenants, 60 residential units and a 429-space parking garage. Innovate ABQ is a seven-acre research and development district planned by the University of New Mexico, the city, the county and private partners.
