ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A New Mexico Lottery player is holding a winning ticket worth $1 million from Wednesday night’s Powerball® drawing, the lottery said in a news release.
The winning ticket matches white ball numbers of 6, 29, 34, 44 and 50, but missed the red Powerball® number of 28 for the $80 million jackpot, the release said.
It is the nation’s first and only $1 million Powerball® prize since the game launched its new format on Sunday, according to the release. Previously, the prize for matching five white balls was $200,000.
The lottery urges the holder sign the winning ticket immediately and call New Mexico Lottery security to make arrangements to claim the prize.
