Torino’s owners readying new restaurant

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Daniela and Maxime Bouneou are getting back to the business of feeding Albuquerque.

The couple known for Torino’s @ Home are finishing construction at their new restaurant, Eclectic, and could open as early as this month at 2119 Menaul NE. The Bouneous had been absent from the local dining scene for the last few months after selling Torino’s, the Italian eatery they founded, to Daniel and Jenna John.

The Bouneous are going for a different type of experience with Eclectic, a place they’re dubbing an “urban pizzeria and tap house.” The menu will feature pizzas like the “Tio Juanito” with Hatch green chile and brie cheese and the “North Shore” with cilantro pesto, shrimp, bacon and pineapple.

Daniela Bouneou says it’s about “simple ingredients, simple taste.”

They will also have 16 beers on tap, pouring some from New Mexico and Colorado.
