ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico has launched a national search for a new dean of the School of Engineering.

University of New Mexico Provost Chaouki Abdallah said this week the new dean will hold the title of Jim and Ellen King Dean of Engineering and Computing.

The selected candidate will take over leadership of the School from Joseph Cecchi, who has held the dean position since 2014 and previously from 2000-2009.

The new dean will manage an annual academic budget of around $17 million and the administration of the departments of various engineering programs.
