KUDOS TO Joe G’s observations regarding how UNM Athletics has alienated its fan and student base over the years, especially in The Pit. Even your basketball season-ticket holders are getting fed up. You may have already killed the goose that laid all those golden eggs. I want to know if Mr. Krebs and other responsible individuals are willing to take a pay cut to help ease the budget deficit.

WITH A GOLDEN opportunity to promote the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Pit, along with having two preseason all conference selection players (one being the preseason conference player-of-the-year), there should be an extraordinary buzz around town regarding Lobo basketball. UNM officials have once again dropped the ball. The UNM players and coaches were not made available to the media after the Howl? What’s up with that?

— JJ

IT IS OBVIOUS our Mr. Krebs is not able to handle the Lobo Athletic Budget. He is trying to make football into big time. Suggestion: Why not have a promotion “Fill the Stadium Day” with tickets for $5/10 and half price for parking. It is much better than having a stadium two thirds empty. …

(AS) ED JOHNSON stated in his Journal article,  UNM … (spent) money it did not have, counting on revenue that did not come. If they get their money from whatever source, will UNM stop spending money it does not have?

CHOMP. CHOMP. Eating my words about AFA beating the Lobos. Wolf! Wolf!
