AROUND THE STATE
SHADY LAKES: On the final weekend of Shady Lakes after 54 years in business, the biggest rainbow trout in Shady’s history was caught. It was 25 inches and caught by 8-year-old Isaac Garcia. Numerous other big trout were landed as well. A half-dozen largemouth bass were caught and released, too. It remains my goal that there be a buyer for Shady Lakes that will continue to keep it open for everyone to enjoy.
