Federal prosecutors say 15 people have been charged with trafficking in methamphetamine in the Albuquerque area. The indictments were announced Friday by the U.S. attorney’s office and the Drug Enforcement Administration’s El Paso Division.
Authorities say that over nine months, federal agents seized more than 13 pounds of methamphetamine and confiscated over $100,000 in currency and other assets including firearms.
The indictment charges all 15 defendants with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and using telephones to set up drug deals.
U.S. Attorney Kenneth J. Gonzales described the operation as one of the larger and more lucrative methamphetamine distribution organizations operating in the Albuquerque area.
