COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Drunken driving is suspected of triggering a series of crashes that injured several people on Interstate 25 near Pueblo.
The Colorado State Patrol says a 28-year-old man from Manassa driving the wrong-way on I-25 on Monday night sideswiped one vehicle with four people inside it, causing it to overturn, and collided with the car behind it. The Manassa man was the most seriously injured and was airlifted to Penrose Hospital.
The Gazette (http://bit.ly/2htJ1b7) reports that five other vehicles also crashed because of debris from the original crash, the second wrong way crash in a week in the area.
On Thursday, a 51-year-old Colorado Springs woman and her 9-year-old grandson were killed after colliding head on with a pickup truck pulling a U-Haul trailer driving the wrong way.
