Albuquerque Man Pleads Guilty in Child Porn Case

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The 49-year-old man, a prior sex offender, will face at sentencing a prison term of up to 40 years and a maximum fine of $250,000

A 49-year-old Albuquerque man pleaded guilty Wednesday under a plea agreement with federal prosecutors to distribution and attempted distribution of child pornography, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced in a news release.

Jordan Earl Madison Jr., who has been in custody since his arrest on Aug. 3, will face at sentencing a prison term of not less than 15 years and not more than 40 years, a maximum fine of $250,000, and a lifetime term of supervised release. He also will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison, according to the news release.

The news release said Madison, who had been indicted on federal distribution, receipt and possession of child pornography charges, appeared before U.S. Magistrate W. Daniel Schneider on Wednesday to enter his guilty plea under the plea agreement.

Specifically, Madison admitted to distributing and attempting to distribute a video depicting a prepubescent male child engaged in sexually explicit conduct with an adult male as charged in Count 1 of the indictment, the news release said.

He also admitted in the plea agreement that he previously had been convicted in Arizona of attempted molestation of a child, according to the news release.

U.S. Attorney Kenneth J. Gonzales said the charges against Madison stemmed from an undercover operation in March by the New Mexico Attorney General’s Office aimed at identifying those who possess, receive and distribute child pornography.
