The Marriott adjoins Titan’s Legacy @ Journal Center Development, a retail development under construction by Titan.
Titan is partnering with hotel developer and owner, Bob Gustin of Gustin Property Group for the purchase of the Courtyard Marriott. This is Gustin’s first hotel venture in Albuquerque, according to Titan’s news release.
The hotel includes 150 rooms, 3,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space. Renovations are planned during the summer.
“The Courtyard Marriott is the perfect accompaniment to Legacy @ Journal Center, as it will be an ultra-convenient area to shop, dine and now, to stay as well,” Titan President Drew Dolan said in the release. “Titan is continuing to create liveable, walkable communities throughout Albuquerque, and we’re thrilled to include Marriott in this deal.”
Crescent Hotels and Resort, a national hotel management group, will operate the property.
Legacy @ Journal Center will be anchored by Cabela’s, which is under construction with a planned September opening. The $68 million development also will include six retail and five restaurant pads that will become available after Cabela’s opens. The complete buildout, which began in January, will include a residential space and is planned over six years, according to Kurt Browning, Titan’s chief development officer. The retail and restaurant spaces have a goal of two years for completion of buildout.
Titan also has plans for an apartment complex near the Legacy shopping center, at Headline Boulevard and Lang Avenue.
