I-40 eastbound reopened after crash near Route 66 Casino

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Eastbound Interstate 40 has been reopened after a crash closed the interstate near the Route 66 Casino Hotel west of Albuquerque, according to the Department of Transportation.

In a tweet sent out after 9 a.m., the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office said the two vehicles were involved in a crash and the eastbound lanes of I-40 were closed.

“Avoid the area,” the tweet said.

Authorities haven’t said what caused the crash or if anyone was injured.

The Department of Transportation’s website shows the interstate had been reopened by 10:30 a.m.
