Two people are dead and one is critically injured after a crash near Atrisco and Western Trail Wednesday afternoon, according to a spokesman for the Albuquerque Police Department.

Officer Daren DeAguero said a little after 3 p.m. a car T-boned a truck.

“Speed appears to have been a factor in this accident,” he said.

He said there were three people in the car and one in the truck.

Two passengers in the car died at the scene and the driver is currently in critical condition, DeAguero said.

He said the driver of the truck was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The three people in the car have not been identified, DeAguero said.

The intersection has reopened but the incident is still being investigated.
