Which high school won the green chile stew competition?
The New Mexico State Fair, in collaboration with ProStart and the New Mexico Restaurant Association, hosted the Inaugural High School Culinary Competition for the first time in fair history. The annual competition allows students to put their culinary skills up to the test, allowing students to pursue their culinary dreams. Sponsored by the New Mexico Gas Company, high schools across New Mexico served up their best green chile stew in the hopes of winning $5,000.
3. Taos High School students secured third place and $2,000 for their school.
2. Albuquerque High School took second place, taking home $3,000.
1. Carlsbad High School walked away as champions, receiving the $5,000 prize.
The rest of the competitors, Volcano Vista High School, Atrisco Heritage Academy and Clovis High School received $250 each in prize money.
