Say it ain't snow: Early season action at Sandia Peak Ski Area
Sandia Peak Ski Area unveiled its powdery, ungroomed slopes to eager skiers and snowboarders on Saturday.
The ski area announced the day before that it would open at least one chairlift on weekends from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. after receiving a dumping of snow from the recent storm. The site’s snow report shows a base depth of 16 to 24 inches, with a season total of 36 inches.
Dozens took to the mountain on Saturday to reap the benefits, coasting down the chutes and flying off jumps into deep powder.
