Madrid Christmas Parade
With garland hung over the road and lights strung on all the buildings, and the smell of outdoor fires, incense and weed mixed together, thousands of people lined the sides of N.M. 14 for the annual Madrid Christmas Parade on Saturday.
The eclectic parade features donkeys, burros and horses in sizes from large enough to ride to small enough to step over.
Add to that a Christmas yak, a bison the size of a small pickup truck and people in costume from all around the small mining town in the Ortiz Mountains of Santa Fe County, and it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
