Small-Business Awards To Be Conferred

Rep. Tom Udall, D-N.M., will be the speaker at the annual New Mexico Small Business Administration awards luncheon April 25 at the Sheraton Old Town.
The awards and winners are:
The New Mexico Small Business Person of the Year, Paul Benson, president and general manager of Dankoff Solar Products Inc. in Santa Fe;
The Entrepreneurial Success of the Year, Anthony Thomas, president and CEO of U.S. Cotton LLC in Rio Rancho;
SBA Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Christina Moya, president of Santa Fe Protective Services; and
Small Business Exporters of the Year, Alfredo Cortazar, president, and Kenny S. Mosher, vice president of operations, of Sombra Cosmetics in Albuquerque.

The state SBA also honors advocates of the year: Ed Consroe of Citibank/Citicorp Credit Services as the financial service advocate; Order from Chaos owner Liz Davenport as the home-based business advocate; Stephen F. Mee, manager of the Facility & Waste Operations, Cerro Grande rehabilitation project at Los Alamos National Laboratory, as the minority small-business advocate; Andrew J. DeSalvo, chairman and president of New Mexico Hunt and Hounds in Ojo Caliente, as the research advocate; Four Corners Business Journal editor Eric Fisher as the small-business journalist of the year; Cheri Tillman Anderson of the Reality Education Group in Sandia Park as women-in-business advocate; and H. Harry Bogosian, with the Veteran's Service Commission in Rio Rancho, as the veterans' advocate.
