$1.3 million Santa Fe home with replica Statue of Liberty offers a ‘little bit of everything’
The pink stucco property comes with kiva fireplaces, Saltillo floor tiles and cobblestone features galore
In Santa Fe’s real estate market, there’s something for everyone, according to Realtor Maria Miramontes.
That includes a light pink stucco home boasting a mixture of kiva fireplaces, cobblestone features galore and a Statue of Liberty lamppost to greet guests at the front entrance.
“It’s a unique property,” Miramontes said.
The Realtor, an associate broker with Keller Williams Realty, listed the 3,034-square-foot residence, located in eastern Santa Fe just off N.M. 599, for nearly $1.3 million exactly one year ago as of Thursday.
The home’s high level of customization could be a reason why it hasn’t snagged a buyer yet, Miramontes said. Joining the Statue of Liberty lamppost in the front yard is a stone stairway guarded by two Victorian-style lampposts, leading to a viga ceiling-covered porch.
The custom features continue inside the home, where a smooth yellow kiva fireplace encapsulates a corner made of brick. Close by is the kitchen, where brick islands topped with stone slabs accompany a stove covered by a cobblestone hood.
A separate living room is where the second kiva fireplace — this one, smooth and orange — is tucked into a corner made of cobblestones. Warm wooden ceilings, orange Saltillo floor tiles and colorfully elaborate bathroom tiles are other prominent design features found throughout the home.
The property’s design is “very custom” to the liking of the owner, who had the home built in 2008 and is now looking to move on due to getting older, Miramontes said.
The six-bedroom, four-bathroom home sits on more than 2 acres, offering plenty of space — maybe more space than many people need, narrowing the pool of buyers, Miramontes said. The home’s owner also uses the property as a short-term rental, making showings difficult to schedule, Miramontes said.
Some of the draws of the property, Miramontes said, are the area’s lack of nearby neighbors and plenty of land available for adding on a guest house. The property also offers unobstructed mountain views — easily observed from the wooden gazebo in the front yard — while being just a 10-minute drive from the historic Santa Fe Plaza.
The home has enticed a handful of local buyers and investors, but no bites yet. Miramontes said the home could be ideal for large families or someone who wants to use it as a shared property and rent out the different rooms.
With rooms painted white, pink, yellow and blue, the home — like Santa Fe — offers “a little bit of everything” for everybody, Miramontes said.
