Arguably the most famous green chile ranch is making a dash for the border.

Dion’s Pizza on Wednesday is expected to open its first location in El Paso, Texas, at 10:30 a.m.

Pizzas, salads, subs and, of course, the restaurant’s signature ranch dressing, will be served up at 7484 Paseo del Norte, near Resler Drive.

“Expanding to El Paso marks a new chapter for Dion’s,” Dion’s CEO Mark Herman said in a statement. “We’re excited to become part of this vibrant and dynamic community and look forward to supporting it with great food and strong jobs, especially for young people.”

The 5,000-square-foot restaurant will seat about 170 people and have an open kitchen and a child-friendly pizza viewing stand. There will also be educational tours for children pre-K through 5th grade.

The Albuquerque-based pizza chain will have three locations in Texas. The El Paso restaurant will create about 75 jobs, with a focus on youth development. Dion’s officials have said about 40% of the company’s employees are under 18 years old.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dion’s to El Paso,” Mia Romero, vice president of Advocacy and Government Affairs for the El Paso Chamber, said in a statement. “This exciting addition not only enhances our vibrant culinary scene but also contributes to our ongoing economic development. We look forward to enjoying Dion’s delicious offerings and seeing the positive impact on our community.”
