Greater ABQ Association of Realtors announces new CEO
Ryan Swinney is the new CEO of the Greater Albuquerque Association of Realtors, or GAAR, the organization announced Wednesday.
The former CEO of the Nebraska Realtors Association, Swinney touts more than 20 years in the real estate industry. He also previously served as the association executive for Western Magic Valley Realtors in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Swinney told the Journal he’s a second-generation Realtor and is excited about the opportunity to lead GAAR.
“The real estate industry is second to none, and I am honored to be chosen to assist our great members in protecting homeownership and private property rights in the Albuquerque area,” he said.
Swinney holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental biology with a minor in biochemistry from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He also has advanced training in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
“His extensive experience and dedication to the real estate industry make him an excellent fit for our organization,” said Christopher Shain Tanner, 2025 president of GAAR, in a statement. “We are confident that his leadership will bring fresh perspectives and strengthen our mission to serve and support our members.”
