Here are 6 restaurants in Albuquerque that serve plant-based food
Albuquerque's vegan and vegetarian community has been growing, and now there are a variety of options in the metro area. Here are six places to enjoy plant-based food locally.
Vegos
Owners Elizabeth and Jonathan Bibiano first joined the Albuquerque food scene with a truck at the Rail Yards in 2019. Since then, the couple has upgraded to a brick-and-mortar location. The restaurant serves vegan versions of New Mexican food such as the El Jefe burrito — which has jackfruit, Spanish rice, pinto beans, "queso," chile, lettuce tomato and onion — and an enchilada plate with your choice of red or green, cheeze (a cheese-like product that doesn't contain animal milk), choice of protein and a side of beans and rice.

Lucky Goose
The menu here features not only meat-alternative burgers, hot dogs and chicken tender sandwiches, but also vegan shakes and a variety of french fry plates. Owners Rafael Guillen and Melissa Timmons moved from Los Angles back to Bosque Farms, where Timmons is from. The couple started with a food truck set up at breweries, but eventually moved into their own location in late 2022.

This restaurant aims to serve healing cuisine by following the ayurvedic tradition— an Indian form of medical care based on maintaining a balance between nature and the human body. You won't find eggs, meat, poultry, seafood, white sugar, refined sugar, white flour, artificial sweeteners, honey, peanuts, preservatives or pesticides on the menu; instead the restaurant offers food made from organic produce that is locally grown.
