Megan Gleason, Matthew Narvaiz step up as co-business editors
The state Legislature is in full-swing, and so is the work being done on the Albuquerque Journal’s business desk.
I hope you’ve enjoyed our transition from a weekly Business Outlook section to a daily business page with an expanded Sunday Business Outlook section. There are a few more exciting changes to announce.
This past week, I along with my colleague Matthew Narvaiz stepped into the positions of co-business editors. We’re eager to combine our knowledge and skill sets to make the business desk the best it can be.
That being said, we’re not done reporting. I have a lot more to dig into on my energy, utilities and government beats, and Matthew is always busy looking into economic impacts in New Mexico and the cannabis industry.
As co-editors, we’ll provide a sort of check and balance to each other, if you will, and it’ll allow us both to continue pursuing stories.
But that’s not all.
We’ll also be hiring two new business reporters. We’re hoping to fill much-needed coverage gaps with additional reporting on the health care systems New Mexicans interact with every day and the national laboratories our state so heavily depends upon.
You’ve probably also noticed, in addition to our own weekly Business Outlook podcast, we’re jumping on the daily Albuquerque Journal podcast to talk about our top stories from time to time. Find all the podcasts at abqjournalcast.com.
As co-editors, Matthew and I are looking forward to helping deliver the clear, accessible news New Mexicans deserve.
We want to write what’s important to New Mexico and our readers, so if you have ideas or feedback, please reach out: mgleason@abqjournal.com and mnarvaiz@abqjournal.com.
