Owners put Albuquerque’s The 377 Brewery up for sale
An award-winning brewery is available for purchase as its owners have set their eyes on retired life out of state.
The 377 Brewery, a craft brewery near the Sunport and Kirtland Air Force Base, is on the market for $2.4 million after eight years of business at 2027 Yale SE. The brewery, ranked No. 1 among “Bars & Pubs in Albuquerque” on TripAdvisor, was listed a little over two weeks ago.
The 8,000-square-foot space, formerly a furniture store, was renovated by native New Mexicans Cliff Sandoval and Fred Atencio, business partners who launched the venture in 2016 and now want to retire.
“It’s been our life and we’ve lost several family members in the process of it,” Sandoval told the Journal, adding that he and Atencio are in their 60s and want to spend more time with family.
According to the listing on BizBuySell, the brewery’s gross revenue is $1.8 million, with a positive cash flow of $300,000.
“This is a profitable business,” Sandoval said, adding that many of the business’ 26 employees have been there for years.
Sandoval attributed the brewery’s success — from the numerous awards for its European-style beers and raving reviews about its fish and chips — to its customers, location and the community he and Atencio built there.
Sandoval said the brewery and its furniture, equipment and inventory are available to potential buyers nationally and internationally.
“This has just been a great, great place,” Sandoval said. “We built it out of nothing. ... I would love for this to continue this way.”
Sandoval said the property has received some interest so far. The brewery will remain open until announced otherwise.
