Titan Development breaks ground on second multifamily development in Journal Center

Titan Development broke ground Thursday on another luxury multifamily project in Albuquerque, the latest in a series of apartment complexes across the city under the “Allaso” banner.

The Senary by Allaso is located at 7501 Jefferson NE in the Journal Center and is the second “Allaso” apartment complex in the business park. Titan Development officials expect the 209-unit complex to be completed in late 2024.

“Not only will The Senary by Allaso add much needed units to the market,” said Josh Rogers, partner at Titan. “But a second multifamily community in the Journal Center is another step in the right direction to transform the area into a refreshed and lively mixed-use development.”

The Senary, a $64.5 million investment, follows Titan Development’s Allaso Journal Center, which it opened this summer.

Kurt Browning, a partner with Titan, said the company is likely to add more development to the Journal Center area.

“It’s another great day at Journal Center,” said Lowell Hare, chairman and CEO of Journal Center Corp. “This will help Journal Center to be a truly mixed-use development where people can work, live and play.”

The new Journal Center luxury apartment complex will offer studio, one- and two-bedroom units that range from 600 square feet up to 1,500 square feet, Titan officials said. Each of the three buildings that make up the new development, which is located on a 5-acre lot, will be elevator serviced, four stories and include two dozen attached garages. The complex will be gated.

Titan added that the development will also include a resort-style pool, a fitness center with a mezzanine, spacious lounge with a double-sided fireplace, banquette seating and a kitchenette.

The Senary joins other Allaso-branded properties, including Allaso High Desert, Allaso Vineyards and Allaso Olivine. The $35 million Allaso Olivine project broke ground in May and Titan officials said at the time they expected it to be completed next year.

HB Construction is serving as the general contractor on the development and Dekker/Perich/Sabatini is the architect for the project.

“The Senary by Allaso at The Journal Center represents the evolution of the traditional suburban office park into a 21st century mixed use, live, work, shop and play urban center for Albuquerque,” said Dale Dekker, founding principal of Dekker/Perich/Sabatini.
