University of New Mexico Sandoval Regional Medical Center is making a push to be named one of the “Top 20 Most Beautiful Hospitals in the U.S.”
The hospital is trying to get people to vote in the contest, which is being sponsored by Soliant, a national health care staffing firm.
The contest will recognize hospitals for developing and improving their campuses.
SRMC is competing against more than 70 hospitals. Some of the key attributes at the Rio Rancho hospital are the views of the Sandia Mountains from nearly every patient’s room. It has floor-to-ceiling windows. It’s also a Level-III Trauma Center that serves New Mexico’s rural and tribal communities.
Voting will remain open through July 25 and the winners will be announced July 31.
The top hospital will receive $5,000 for its foundation.
“We are so excited and honored to be a finalist for most beautiful hospital in the country,” said SRMC President Jamie Silva-Steele. “SRMC is truly beautiful both inside and out — from the architecture, art and music to our dedicated team working inside. SRMC is beautiful because its purpose is centered around our patients as well as our staff and providers’ well-being.”
