The Easter Bunny is hopping his way to Albuquerque later this month, bringing eggs to hide across the city.

If you are looking for a fun way to celebrate Easter and make great memories with the kids, check out these six low-cost and free Easter egg hunts happening around town.

To compile this list, I sorted through pages of businesses on Google and social media in search of Easter events around town.

Join New City Church for the Easter story, interactive games, music and an egg hunt. The event is aimed toward preschool through elementary-aged children, but kids of any age are welcome to participate.

LOCATION: New City Church, 4700 San Mateo NE

HOURS: 10 a.m. March 16

COST: Free, but RSVP is requested

Stroll, jog, sprint or hop along this 5-kilometer trail around Los Poblanos Fields Open Space. There will also be an Easter egg hunt for 2,000 eggs hidden throughout a marked area. A special prize will be awarded for the best Easter-themed costume.

HOURS: Race Day packet pickup starts at 8 a.m.; egg hunt begins at 10 a.m. March 30

Easter egg hunt: $6

Instead of candy, these Easter eggs will be filled with minerals, fossils or beads. Participants will also get a free geode to break, and there will be a scavenger hunt for more prizes. Children 12 and under are invited to participate.

Long-time local weatherman Steve Stucker will give a brief message followed by crafts, games and Easter egg stations.

Easter Egg Hunt at Balloon Fiesta Park

Calvary Church Easter Egg Hunt

COST: Free

Delectable Baking Co. and A Heavenly Taste Cakery are teaming up for the third annual Easter Egg Hunt at Balloon Fiesta Park. The Easter Bunny will be there, and there will be outdoor games, an Easter egg decorating contest, free food and drinks, raffles and live music.

Kids fifth grade and under are invited to join this Easter egg hunt. There will also be candy and photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny.
