Facebook and Instagram were down for several hours Tuesday morning in what appears to be a global outage, according to downdetector.com.
Around 8:30 a.m., 579,580 Facebook outages were reported.
By around 10:30 a.m. the social platforms were up and running again.
In the meantime, social media users have flooded active sites such as X, formerly Twitter, to share the news through memes.
