Renowned rapper Post Malone has broken the record for most money spent on a Magic: the Gathering card, purchasing the One Ring card valued at $2 million.

Magic: the Gathering is a tabletop trading card game in which players build decks to challenge each other, and each card has a different set of rules to play by.

Cards vary in price based on the effects it has on the other cards and rarity.

The "One Ring" card comes from J.R.R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" trilogy where the forces of good work together to destroy the "One ring to rule them all" which represents the powers of evil in Middle Earth.

What makes the "One Ring" card from the "Lord of the Rings" pack so valuable? Only one card was printed.

Before the "One Ring" was printed, the most sought after card was a Black Lotus card, which sold for more than $500,000 at an auction, according to IGN.com
