Along with an ice fishing tournament, which was canceled this year, the Friends of Eagle Nest Lake and Cimarron Canyon State Parks also host a Children’s Fishing Derby.
An average of 40 to 50 people ice fish on Eagle Nest Lake daily during the season, which usually runs from January until late February or early March.
