It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas inside the hotel lobby at Sandia Resort and Casino, where a crowd gathered on Monday evening to light the resort’s Christmas tree.

Standing roughly 40 feet tall, the tree is adored with red and silver ornaments and features a massive LED topper. To help light the tree, Sandia Pueblo Gov. Felix Chaves invited a group of children on stage to help him push the big red button that was connected to the tree’s lights.

After they counted down from five, they pressed the button and the tree’s hundreds of bright lights suddenly lit up the hotel lobby. After the lighting ceremony, the kids were met with a surprise visit from Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus themselves.

Ushered in with the sound of reindeer bells, Santa and Mrs. Claus took time to take photos with the children and ask them what they wanted for Christmas.
