AT BOOKS ON THE BOSQUE

Award-winning Albuquerque author Minrose Gwin will be in conversation with Lynn Miller about Gwin’s new novel “Beautiful Dreamers” at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at Books on the Bosque.

The year is 1953 and the story is about Memory “Mem” Feather, a precocious teenager and her recently divorced mother Virginia, who have moved back to the Mississippi Gulf Coast community of Belle Cote. They’re welcomed by Virginia’s childhood friend Mac McFadden, whose energy boosts Virginia’s spirits. The three become a close, though unconventional, family.

Enter the unscrupulous though charismatic Tony Amato, who sets in motion events that shatter family bonds and change Mem’s life.
