Beating the heat: City concludes free music series with Westside Summerfest
It’s been a summer full of heat, as well as full of family fun and music.
The city of Albuquerque’s Westside Summerfest will take place from 5-10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at the Ventana Ranch Community Park.
This is the final installment of the city’s free concert series and will feature all-local talent for its musical lineup.
According to Bree Ortiz, Community Events Division manager, the free family-friendly event features small businesses with handcrafted products in The Shops, food trucks with freshly-made cuisine in the food court, libations created by breweries, wineries and distilleries in The Cantina, and entertainment by local talent on two stages at a city park all under the summer sky.
There will also be a kids area full of fun activities including free face painting, and inflatable jump houses, Ortiz says.
Westside Summerfest is free to the public. Pets are welcome on leashes. Glass and alcohol are not permitted at public parks.
The event is rain or shine.
Ortiz says Westside Summerfest is dedicated to promoting local talent and will feature Albuquerque bands on two stages.
