IShowSpeed tour rolls into Albuquerque. Here's where he's visited so far
Darren Watkins Jr., known as IShowSpeed on streaming and social platforms, arrived in Albuquerque on Saturday as part of his "Speed Does America" tour.
IShowSpeed is traveling across the United States, live-streaming every minute of his 35-day tour. Saturday is Day 31.
Nearly 23,000 people were watching live on YouTube as IShowSpeed's tour bus pulled into Old Town. IShowSpeed, who was in bed as the tour bus came into Albuquerque, woke up around 1 p.m.
"We literally just got here and there are hundreds of people outside the bus," he said on the livestream shortly after waking up and seeing the gathering crowd.
Nearly 44 million people subscribe to IShowSpeed's YouTube page, making him one of the internet's most popular streamers.
Among the places he’s visited so far in Albuquerque are the Range Café on Rio Grande Boulevard, where he ordered a breakfast burrito that he complained upset his stomach, then visited children diagnosed with cancer near the University of New Mexico Hospital before going to the Rio Grande Rivalry football game between UNM and New Mexico State at University Stadium.

Upon arriving at the game during halftime, he met mixed martial artists Jon Jones and Holly Holm and Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller. He was granted field access for the beginning of the second half and, at one point, got to conduct the UNM band for a rendition of Pitbull’s "Fireball."
IShowSpeed also met Lobo Louie and Lobo Lucy and asked each, “Are you a werewolf?
After leaving the game in the third quarter, IShowSpeed met up and danced with people from the Navajo Nation near a city park.
Then, just before 6 p.m. he attempted to visit the “Breaking Bad" house where Walter White, the fictional lead character of the show lived, but was turned away by Joanne Quintana, the home's real owner.
Quintana has a history of hostility toward visitors and has put the home up for sale in the past. According to members of IShowSpeed's stream team, they had been in touch with her prior to the attempted visit, but she got scared by the large crowd.
“Let's go, bro, I’m pissed,” IShowSpeed said as he and his team returned to their car.
Albuquerque Police Department units could be seen outside the home upon the streamer's arrival.
The team then went to the local chain Bob's Burgers after it was recommended by people watching the stream and those in crowds he drew.
The visit to the Bob's Burgers at San Mateo and Menaul caused significant traffic, according to Apple maps — also a showcase of the extremely large crowds that popped up wherever internet star appeared.
During his stream, IShowSpeed routinely mispronounced Albuquerque, but displayed a knowledge of the state's staple condiment.
When asked by a fan if he liked green chile, the streamer responded, “I get the Christmas … I know all about that.”
