Chamber Music Albuquerque is bringing the Grammy Award-winning Takács Quartet to the Immanuel Nob Hill Presbyterian Church at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23. Remembering a movement

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Albuquerque is collaborating with the Black Chamber of Commerce of New Mexico and the New Mexico Holocaust & Intolerance Museum to host a special screening of “Ain’t No Back to a Merry-Go-Round” at 2 p.m. Sunday Feb. 23. The documentary gives an intimate look at a protest during the Civil Rights Movement. Tickets are $10 in advance at jccabq.org, or $15 at the door. The JCC is located at 5520 Wyoming Blvd. NE.

Golden celebration

The Albuquerque Bernalillo County Main Public Library is holding at 50th anniversary party from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22. Events include a celebratory speech and proclamation, tour, concert, community resource fair and more. The library is located at 501 Copper Ave. NW. ‘Stories in Sound’

UNM Symphony Orchestra will be playing “Musical Vignettes: Stories in Sound” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at Popejoy Hall. The program includes Paul Dukas’ “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” Béla Bartók’s Violin Concerto No. 2 and more. Tickets are $10-$15, plus fees, at unmtickets.evenue.net. Full STEAM ahead

The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History has announced the return of Discover STEAM Day with an event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22. The all-ages event features STEAM activities and demonstrations. Discover STEAM Day is included with the price of admission, $12-$22, at nuclearmuseum.org. Mad about mochi

Learn the art of mochitsuki, or mochi making, at the ABQ BioPark Botanic Garden from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22. Participants will learn how to transform whole rice grains into a sticky, flavorful dough. The event is included in the price of admission, $1-$19.50 with children 2 and under free, at artsandculture.cabq.gov. The botanic garden is located at 2601 Central Ave. NW.

Polar express

Join the ABQ BioPark Zoo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, for International Polar Bear Day. Keepers will chat about the animals at 11:30 a.m. at the Inukshuk Bay exhibit. There will also be discovery stations to help visitors learn about Kiska, the zoo’s resident polar bear.
