There are plenty of tasks to be completed before Chiquis feels comfortable.

“I know what I want,” she says with a laugh. “It’s important for me to have everything in line before I head out on tour.”

The Latin Grammy Award winner is bringing her “Diamantes Tour” to Revel Entertainment Center on Saturday, June 1.

“I am so ecstatic, and cannot wait to kick off my ‘Diamantes Tour’ alongside my band, Banda Abeja Reina,” Chiquis says. “I am ready to share this new, fresh and one of a kind concert experience, carefully developed with love for my U.S. and Mexican fans. I want to personally invite all my Boss Bees to join me with their flashiest outfits on at every show, so we can shine bright, together!”

Chiquis says “Diamantes” is not just a tour — it’s a celebration of empowerment, self-expression and unity.

She released her fifth original album, “Bee Side,” which continues the music experience that began with “Abeja Reina.”

The album sees Chiquis crossing genres such as banda, mariachi and country, and includes fusions such as electro-cumbia, electro-pop-urban, rap (perreo-electronic) and Spanglish.

In 2013, Chiquis embarked on her solo music career, fulfilling a promise to her mother, Jenni Rivera.

In less than two years, her debut album, “Ahora,” soared to the top of the charts, reaching No. 1 in sales on iTunes and Billboard’s Regional Mexican Albums chart.

Her musical prowess continued to shine with subsequent releases, including her second album, “Entre Botellas,” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Regional Mexican Albums chart and featured hit singles “Vas a Volver” and “Horas Extras.”

However, it was her third album, “Playlist,” that earned her the prestigious honor of becoming the first female solo artist to win the Latin Grammy for Best Banda Album in 2020.

Building on her momentum, in 2022 Chiquis received her second Latin Grammy for Best Banda Album with her fourth album, “Abeja Reina.”

Chiquis says with “Bee Side,” she was working on it at the same time as “Abeja Reina.”

It took her about two years to create both albums.

“We were going back into the studio to make things a little bit better,” she says. “If it takes a little longer, I don’t mind because I need to be happy with it and I need to be able to listen to it.”

Chiquis is also one to never stand down — even to her record company.

“I’ve had to push back a little bit with my record label,” she says. “They do a good job and I need them to get behind me in pushing out my singles. I don’t want to be that type of artist that just pumps out music and it loses meaning. I want to create a complete album that I’m in love with. I’m all about longevity with my career.”

It’s taken months for Chiquis and her team to plan the tour.

There was some pressure on all accounts to make this one of her best tours.

“ ‘Reina’ gave me great stories that I wanted to share with the world,” she says. “When planning for the live show, I wanted to surpass that. I want it all to stand on its own. I like to challenge myself. I listen to God and science and created my live show in a different light. I want everyone to feel like they belong at my show. It’s a sense of community.”
